Germany has a special place in my heart. I went to college there, it shaped a lot of who I am. So when our first research study got covered by N-Tv, it was a special experience.
Lok Sabha Election 2019 has been dominated by FakeNews/MisInformation/DisInformation. On a daily basis we hear about one rumor or the other. Sadly the hard work put in by social media platforms is not even acting as a drop in the ocean, as the resources put behind spreading rumors are far more and highly passionate as compared to the structured approach put in by the tech giants.
Its like fighting a wildfire while being in the middle of it, eventually its fire which will have the last say. Details about our research can be read over here. I would like to highlight once again, India needs to create new regulations to ensure #FakeNews does not become the basis of our democracy!
