After a long 34 hour, back breaking drive all the way from Delhi to Chennai, tired and hungry, we finally arrived. But, social change soldiers don’t have the luxury of time to chill so we grabbed a bite and called it a night.
We had a mammoth task ahead of us and so, charged and pumped we took day 1 head-on with buzzing energy. The students at Alpha Arts & Science College were patient, enthusiastic and good listeners. Amitabh, our captain, effectively cast the spell of his charm on the students and the first workshop was a success. Humour is essential when dealing with students, a straight jacket approach simply falls flat on deaf ears.
The 2nd and 3rd workshop followed suit, we sustained the energy and managed to deliver a day of fun, engaging games and presentations but spreading the right information and as we call it- keeping it real. Arnika, a seasoned trainer by now, got the crowd thinking and talking. The 3rd workshop in particular went smoothly and we felt that it was the most engaging crowd of the day. The group was of psychology students and they had really interesting insight on what we had to say.
Exhausted but content with the day we headed home with a bunch of learning. A long journey lay ahead and we knew we would get to the otherside with flying colours.
