Probably the most important skill of our Digital times. Though to be safe, we need to know the dangers. Here is one of the simplest ways to Hack someone via Phishing a noun meaning:

the fraudulent practice of sending emails purporting to be from reputable companies in order to induce individuals to reveal personal information, such as passwords and credit card numbers, online.

How does it work, you get an email from Gmail, looking like this, claiming someone has tried to login from a funny country who’s capital you are unsure of and urges you to change the password. You being a swift netizen follow the link and do as required, only not realizing that this was a mail sent by a hacker,

Because the real mail from Gmail looks like this:

As my man Denzel Washington just recently said, instead of being first and fast, how about we take a second to verify, ask around, Google for solutions.

Speaking of solutions, this is what I would recommend.

Two Factor Authorization, meaning that if a new device wants to login, they will need an extra code, usually sent / generated on your mobile. Its brilliant, amazing, easy to use and surely makes you way more secure than just the password.

Keep two email id’s, One for your daily communication, and one for banking, saving passwords, login’s. It’s the oldest trick in the book, but keeps you safe, they cant break in to a place they don’t have an address to.

Use a password manager: Yup they have those, some for free, some cost a bit, depending upon your pockets take a pick.
