You being a swift netizen follow the link and do as required, only not realizing that this was a mail sent by a hacker,

Speaking of solutions, this is what I would recommend.
Two Factor Authorization, meaning that if a new device wants to login, they will need an extra code, usually sent / generated on your mobile. Its brilliant, amazing, easy to use and surely makes you way more secure than just the password.
Keep two email id’s, One for your daily communication, and one for banking, saving passwords, login’s. It’s the oldest trick in the book, but keeps you safe, they cant break in to a place they don’t have an address to.
Use a password manager: Yup they have those, some for free, some cost a bit, depending upon your pockets take a pick.
